We played at Matthew and Chelsea’s beautiful Banff ceremony at St. Mary’s Parish on February 13th of 2016. It was a gorgeous winter day – sunny, warm (for February in Banff!) and it snowed. It was like a fairytale! We started by playing Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring for the seating of the parents and entrance of the groomsmen, quickly followed by Brian Crain’s sweet melody, Butterfly Waltz.
It goes without saying that Chelsea walked down in a beautiful dress, but even moreso, a huge smile on her face and love in her eyes as we played Canon. The love between Matthew and Chelsea was palpable as they proceeded through their ceremony. A few happy tears were shed, and Ryan and I were so happy to see our dear friends marry each other – they are one of those couples that you know nothing but good things will come from their union. They are both so smart, loving, and genuinely lovely people!
With the help of the priest and Darling Weddings, we saw our cue to play Ave Maria for the signing. It was then when they were announced as husband and wife that we played the festive Prince of Denmark’s March (Hornpipe Finale) for their exit as their family and friends cheered them into their new lives as a new family.
